MP Hardware❤️Remember Mr.Bolick at the full service gas station❤️, Hugh McManaway❤️, downtown(yes!) ❤️, Skating at Eastland…how about Youth Town or when Blackhawk was Woolworth’s with a Santa, or Hector’s at South Park or the lunch counters at Eckerd’s or Park Place? Thx for the fond stroll down memory lane.

Had forgotten that Blackhawk Hardware used to be Woolworth’s, holy cow. I should’ve gathered some natives for a focus group. Maybe an encore post one day!

Loved reliving these memories - thank you for sharing. While not a "unicorn", moving to the QC at age 5 in 1973 seems pretty close. Plus, I am married to one who is also a true native.

Loved to hear your tales of youth. No doubt that had I grown up here, I would have joined in the smuggling of Bartles & James over state lines! ❤️

The funny part is that we were still underage - but it was much easier to pull off 18 over 21.

So many memories here. Pretty much said yes to every question. I spent many a Sunday morning at the old A&P with a pocket full of quarters for Donkey Kong when I should have been back across the street at MPP Sunday school. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane Cathia!
